Tenerife and Lanzarote Spanish Islands

We visited the Canary Island’s of Tenerife and Lanzorote. In Tenerife we were in the north for the first part of the week and then flew over to Lanzarote for a few day and then back to southern Tenerife.

On Tenerife we stayed in Puerto de la Cruz, a quieter part of the island, and visited the Parque Rural de Anaga, a beautiful park of Laurel forests and high peaks. When we came back to Tenerife we stayed in Adeje a more tourist area with great beaches. Visited the Teide Park which was an incredible volcanic park, consider one of the best in the world and a World UNESCO site.

Lanzarote, the island of 1000 volcanoes, lived up to it’s reputation. The island was littered with volcanos and our visit to Timanfaya park was an amazing tour of the major volcanos of the island. It was said, back in the 1700’s the entire island erupted and was on fire, killing every living thing! We visited a number of wineries that produce excellent and unique wines produced in the volcanic soil.

Both islands had amazing landscapes!

Suggestion: A car is optional on both islands, as there are plenty of tours and transfer transportation, as parking is very difficult and challenging.
